Mechanical Engineering(Graduate major)

Mechanical Engineering is an applied discipline that studies and solves all theoretical and practical problems in developing, designing, manufacturing, installing, utilizing and repairing various kinds of machinery on the theoretical basis of relevant natural sciences and technological sciences, and in combination with technical experience in production practice. This discipline is the characteristic professional discipline of the Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipality (2008 and 2009), the national first-class professional construction discipline (2020), the national "211 project" and "985 advantageous disciplines innovation platform project" key construction disciplines. It consists of 6 secondary disciplines: mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechanical and electronic engineering, mechanical design and theory, vehicle engineering, micro-nano electromechanical engineering, intelligent equipment and robotics.

1.Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation

(1) Computer aided manufacturing

Research on CAM, CAPP application technology, machining process, manufacturing information technology, virtual manufacturing, precision measurement, CNC machining, special machining and other theories and technologies; hydraulic valves, high water-based hydraulic components and other manufacturing technologies.

(2) Surface engineering

Composite material design, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), physical vapor deposition (PVD), thermal spraying, chemical plating, electrochemical plating (ECP), laser surface cladding, multi-functional coating and other modern surface technology.

(3) Advanced manufacturing

Research on advanced structural materials, functional materials, composite materials, such as basic theory, material properties, molding process, preparation process precision control, quality testing and evaluation, research on poly diamond, polycrystalline cubic boron nitride tool design, edge toughening and passivation design, cutting mechanism. chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), electronic manufacturing tribology.

2.Mechatronics Engineering

(1) Mechatronics

Integration of precision machinery, fluid transmission components and systems, computers, electronics, optics and related control technologies, the study of electromechanical equipment, such as automatic detection, information processing, control and protection, the formation of specific autonomous perception, autonomous movement characteristics of electromechanical equipment.

(2) Equipment fault diagnosis and condition monitoring

Comprehensive use of mathematical statistics, fatigue strength theory, load and stress analysis, reliability theory, signal analysis, artificial intelligence and other multidisciplinary knowledge, equipment anomalies or signs of failure to analyze and diagnose, assess its health status, predict the development trend of the failure, and realize the intelligent operation and maintenance of equipment.

3.Mechanical Design and Theory

Research on CAD application technology, mechanical design, processing error theory and data processing methods and other related research, research on mechanical equipment finite element analysis, optimization design and reliability design.

4.Vehicle Engineering

(1) System Dynamics and Deceleration Transmission

Research on vehicle system dynamics and control, active safety, vibration and noise analysis and control, power battery force - electrochemical coupling mechanism, unmanned driving, etc., the study of vehicle speed reduction transmission kinematics and dynamics, reliability, fatigue strength, load carrying capacity and its lubrication mechanism.

(2) Power Battery for New Energy Vehicles

Research and development of electrochemical and other new energy conversion materials and devices, research on electric energy storage, chemical energy green conversion and electric energy storage and transfer integration technology, research on lithium-ion batteries, medium and high temperature fuel cells/electrolytic cells and other areas of energy storage and energy conversion of key materials, devices and auxiliary equipment.

5.Micro-Nano Electromechanical Engineering

For pressure, strain, acceleration, gas-liquid concentration, etc., to carry out micro-nano optical/mechanical/electrical/bionic sensors of new sensitive mechanisms and information interpretation, sensor indexes optimization and performance evaluation and other research.

6. Intelligent Equipment and Robotics

(1) Robotics

Research on robotics and applied technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine vision, hearing, intelligent sensing, decision-making and control, interface technology, mechanism, software development, etc., research on robots engaged in manufacturing work, and robots working under difficult, harsh and dangerous conditions.

(2) Mining Machinery and its Intelligent

According to the characteristics and requirements of mining machinery, using modern design and manufacturing methods, combined with computer, sensing, communication, control and other technologies, mining machinery theory and engineering research, in order to improve the productivity, adaptability, safety and reliability of mining machinery and the degree of intelligence.
